The Touch : Two best friends founded the Touch in 1977 in a small basement studio. They specialized in the hand forged silver jewelry so popular during the seventies when the craft movement was enjoying its revival. As their business grew, the line evolved to a wide ranging selection of designs both contemporary and classic…designs that capture a mood and translate ideas into beautiful, wearable art. Each piece is carefully created to become a long lasting heirloom. The designs are created with the utmost of traditional craftsmanship, visionary style, and exceptional quality. Susan Dailinger is the designer behind the Touch.

Susan Dailinger is an award winning Massachusetts artist with over twenty years of design experience. The freedom to do both cast and hand-fabricated pieces is what drives her. For Susan, designing brings together the object with the ethereal. She feels jewelry is often the symbol of a promise, capturing in concrete form the preciousness, magic, and mystery we find in ourselves, our relationships and our worlds, and accentuating the connections among the three. She feels truly privileged to be working in a field where creativity and an element of playfulness are a large part of the work. "I want the joy and pleasure I feel in the creative process to be apparent in the pieces we create." Another aspect Susan enjoys and values is the interaction and feedback she receives from the talented craftsman/jewelers with whom she works. Along with her Bachelors of Fine Arts, Susan has master degrees in both Psychology and Social Work. She feels that the interwoven nature of these two fields and the connection between the individual and world in which she lives has contributed to her success. Visit the The Touch website
